My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ORIGINAL BIO 9/17/2008: My name is Nala - I am 10 y/o and weigh 6#. It turns out I am a very special little girlie. Foster Mom rescued me today from sure euthanasia at a high-kill shelter in Florida. When she picked me up, she noticed something special about me. FM noticed I had a tattoo on the inside of my ear. The shelter wasn't sure what to make of it, but FM knew my secret.....I was raised in a puppymill and spent many, many years there in solitude, kept in a cage barely big enough to turn around in. I existed only to have puppies and knew nothing of human love and affection. When they were through with me, I was sold at an auction. Those were very sad and lonely times in my life.

FM thinks that someone cared for me after I was bought at the auction. I am sweet and do not resent the humans that so mistreated me. Though I am a little skittish at first, I give gentle kisses and love to be near you. I have lost most of my teeth, and the ones remaining are my back teeth and my two bottom canines. They under-bite my upper jaw and kinda make me look a little - um.............special? FM thinks it's sweet looking and just adds to my charm. I dunno if they are gonna hafta come out when I get my dental, but we'll see. I eat my soft food just fine. I also love going for walks and get around just as well as those young whipper-snappers! I'm spunky :)

My name is Nala because that's the name of Simba's girlfriend in the move, The Lion King. Simba and I both are currently foster-siblings and are around the same size and age. FM thinks we're a trip, like a little old married couple. He's leaving this week-end to go to his FURever home. Can someone come get me, too, and let me live out the rest of my doggie life in happiness? I have lots of life and love left in me. Remember, yorkies can live well into their upper teens. Please consider adopting a senior like me. See the tribute to adopting a senior pup on the Yorkie Tales page! Hakuna-Matata!
