My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wally was hit by a car and could not walk or stand up. We rescued him and our vets found his spine was fractured and he would probably never walk again... well. We don't give up so we whisked him out of the shelter and off to see our wonderful Dr Payne who has done some amazing surgeries for us on 'broken' dogs.. Wally had two surgeries .. his spine was just not fractured it had splintered through his spinal cord and so that was surgery number one to remove the bone and then surgery number two to repair the spine.. both tricky operations and he was also susceptible to some pretty bad diseases that can come when the spinal cord is damaged that could have killed him...so Dr Payne kept him at the clinic for 10 days to make sure he was ok before we picked him up...then we started rehab with Nancy at Gulf Coast who has worked on our dogs before and he just finished up 7 weeks of physical therapy, laser therapy, water treadmill, hurdles, balancing and not only can Wally now walk, he can run !! he's not the most graceful dog but compared to how he was and what his prognosis was he is, as Dr Payne says our 'miracle dog" Wally can now be neutered and start looking for his new home.. He is just a great dog, everyone at the clinic loves him. He is approx 1 year old and 18 lbs and just as happy as can be. He looks part Irish Terrier and has the personality to match !! He is pretty good at potty training, just a little more consistency and he will be fully trained.

The total adoption cost of $475 includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration . The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. All our dogs are in foster care, there is no physical shelter. Some have not yet arrived in PA.
