Meet Winston! This handsome guy was found when he wandered up to our property. He looked clean, and well fed, so we automatically assumed he was someone's pet. So we put him up on lost and found sites and what do you know? We found his owners! They lived down the road from us, and their neighbor recognized the dog on the website. She gave her neighbors our information to contact us so they could retrieve him. Days later, they never contacted or even came looking for him. So, we decided to take him into our group!
Winston is the epitome of his breed, the Labrador Retriever. Weighing in at 55 lbs this handsome hound is just DYING to spend his day with you! We estimate his age to be between 8-10 months old so he still has a little growing to do but most of it will be growing out of his puppy playful self, not really his size. He is truly ALL PUPPY when he comes outside to play. He is energetic, loves to play with toys and is always looking for someone to engage in play time with! Winston gets along wonderfully with dogs of all ages and size, and though he can be a little much for the smaller, more relaxed dogs he has shown not even a sliver of aggression. This boy is all smiles, all the time! He even doesn't mind the cats! Although we would suggest a cat that has experience with dogs because due to his playful nature he is always wanting a play mate, and some cats aren't really into slober and play.
Winston is very well mannered and knows that there is a time and place for everything. Outside he has a great time running around, playing fetch and enjoying the autumn breeze! But when he comes inside, he settles down and enjoys just kicking back while we watch TV and enjoys just chewing on his bone. He is completely housebroken, and hasn't attempted to disrupt the house at all. He happily crates when he needs to be and doesn't mind being left with a kong when we leave the house while he's in there. He knows how to sit and settle, and we are currently working on stay and shake. He is extremely bright so training will be very easy for this guy, and lots of fun too! He has tons of personality for a pup and you can tell he is just ready to be your forever friend!
Winston will be fully vetted on 11/9/16 meaning he will be neutered, receive all of his vaccinations including his Rabies, Bordatella(kennel cough) and his DHPP shot. He will also be microchipped and Heartworm tested. He is already on monthly preventions for fleas and worms. He will be ready to head to his new forever home starting 11/16!
