Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Updated Bio 11-3-16 Goldie is a beautiful golden-haired, young 3 to 4 year old Yorkie Mix. She weighs 15 pounds. Goldie is being fostered in Richmond, VA.
Goldie's adoption fee is $395 and includes all vetting (neuter/spay, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration). A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt Goldie by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page.
Goldie is a very sweet, very healthy, loving pup. Goldie is the perfect dog, though she needs to be given a little time to adjust to her new situations. At first she may be a little skittish and wary, but in a very short time, when she is familiar with her situation, she will settle in and be a wonderful, calm dog who loves to cuddle and give kisses.
Goldie would most likely do best as an only dog as she is slow to build trust with other dogs. She would love a home with a fenced yard because she loves to run. She loves to be outside in a fenced yard and just run around. However, this may also mean you have to watch her because she may try to run out the door. A doggie gate may help that or watching that she is not near an open door leading to an unfenced area. Goldie would prefer a home with adults only. She doesn’t seem to care for young children. Calm children over the age of 13 who understand that Goldie needs time to learn to trust would be okay.
Goldie is mostly house trained, but will have occasional accidents. It is helpful if there is someone home throughout most of the day to take her out often, especially in the fenced yard. Since she does not like to be confined or crated she would be fine in a gated area like a kitchen when no one is home with perhaps pee pads. She may not use it, but it can be offered.
Goldie is good in the car and walks nicely on a leash. She does take her time to adjust to strange, new situations and may bark at other dogs she does not know. Therefore that fenced yard is probably her best and happiest place to be when outside.
Goldie is loving and calm when she is in a familiar situation, so anyone who adopts her will need to be a little patient with her and give her the time she needs to adjust. She loves to be held and snuggled. She is a great dog, a very loving dog, and a great pet. Like many rescues with sad or unknown histories Goldie will need to know she is finally in a home to stay, with people she can trust to love and care for her forever.
If after reading this you would like to be considered for possible adoption of Goldie, please fill out an adoption application for her. This special girl needs to find her special forever home. Perhaps it is you?
