My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charley was a stray cat found in my garage with an abscess. Unfortunately he tested positive for FIV so my vet said he cannot be vaccinated with a live vaccine so all he has had is rabies. I have not put him with any other cats because of his FIV status so don't know if he would get along with other cats or not. He is very friendly and has turned into my favorite cat. He would love a forever home where he could live inside either with other FIV positive cats or with just humans. He should not be let outside where he could put other cats at risk. I have not had him around dogs.

More about this rescue

Easthaven Dog Rescue is a small rescue organization and shelter. We rescue homeless, neglected, abused and/or abandoned pets, mainly from the Easthaven subdivision. We also have a program called "Shelter in Place." Shelter in Place assists people who currently own pets but want to give up their pets because of problems. We help solve the problems, allowing the owners to keep their pet. Some of the problems we help with include: owner can't afford vaccines or medical treatment, training and socialization problems, containment issues (no fence or fence needs repair), and other problems. We like to teach people what their pets need. Feel free to call or write if you have any pet questions.

Donations of cash or supplies are always appreciated. We would welcome volunteers who would help bathe or walk dogs.
