Hi Everyone!!. I’m Salvatore or Sal for short! I am a 22 year old female African Grey who was raised by one female owner until now. She thought I was a boy until I laid an egg!
I have really grown to love peanuts but my foster mom is weaning me off of them a bit as the vet says I’m overweight. What can I say, we all have our little pleasures in life, peanuts are mine. Too bad they really aren't good for me, or any other parrot, really! I do have a calm demeanor, though so you can feed me other, healthy treats by hand like almonds, pistachio nuts, or pieces of fresh fruit. (I like treats).
I do not do well with cats or dogs! One actually attacked me in my past life! I am chatty when my foster mom greets me in the morning and especially at night when it’s time to wind down for bed. I say “good morning” “there ya go” “Hi Salvatore” “good night Salvatore” “okay” and probably some other things hidden away that I'm saving for just the right time. I also do whistles, clicks and many more things!
I am very comfortable in my cage and enjoy ringing my bell, but I will come out on top of it to play with my nuts and toys. Whoever adopts me will need to be very patient and loving and will need to earn my trust. I know, though, that once I trust you, I will love you and be your bff for life. It will be so worth it for both of us! Can we learn to trust each other? Come meet me and let's find out.

An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird's cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
