My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there. My name is Kiki. I'm a chi-weenie, ~8 to 9 years old, and weigh...well, a girl doesn't like to reveal her weight, but they say I'm a tweenie. (Best guess is ~16 lbs.) You may not know this yet, but I've already decided to be your new best friend. I mean look at me. Don't you think I am gorgeous?

My foster family says I'm pretty awesome at a LOT of things...and working hard in some other areas.

I do my best to keep a spot on the sofa warm for you and will jump up to say hey when you get home. I love to snuggle and nuzzle. My foster dad calls it "snuzzling"! I make super cute noises while I do it too. My favorite thing to do when snuzzling on the couch with you is to burrow under a soft warm blanket. I also love playing with squeaky toys. You can even see a video of me doing it on this page. See, there are more things I am good at. I sleep in my own cozy den ( crate ) Walks are a lot of fun, especially if we see a squirrel!

I'm rather shy at first. I need my new people to be patient with me and not force me to do things I don't really want to do. If you let me hang out in my "house" ( crate ), that's where I'll be most comfortable as I learn new environments. And I'd really rather be the only pup in the house. I'll tolerate some others, but I'd really rather not have to, if you know what I mean. I AM A PRINCESS!!!

I do take a pill a day to help with my thyroid condition and that will help me lose weight too. But that's no big deal, just slip inside a treat and it's all gone.

Check out my YouTube dance video above. You can also find another of me at this link. I can't wait to meet you forever family! Love and licks, Kiki.

If you are interested in adopting Kiki, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform2.shtml . Kiki 's adoption fee is $350. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Kiki will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
