Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Silvio. I am a red Doberman about 3-5 years old, neutered, up to date on shots, and micro chipped. My ears are natural and soft. I found myself at an overcrowded and stressful animal shelter where I got sick with a now resolved respiratory problem. I’ve always suffered from a lot of anxiety so I’ve been put on some anti-anxiety meds that help to reduce my stress. I am now learning how to be around other dogs and how to play with TOYS! Who knew such things existed? I love having somebody watching me play with toys. If there’s nobody to keep me company, I don’t enjoy it as much.
I'm looking for a home with someone who will spend lots of time with me. I get very stressed when left alone and I don’t like to be confined.
I'm okay with other dogs but I'm really just learning how to play with them. I'm pretty smart, if I do say so. I'm learning to walk on a leash without tugging. And I'll chase a ball for you if you throw it but I'd rather you not throw it too far as I like to be near my people. I need lots of exercise and I learn new things pretty quickly. Learning new things helps keep my mind occupied. I need a fenced-in yard to run around in so I can burn off steam
My ideal home is with somebody who is retired or works from home so that I don’t have to be left alone long. I’m sure I will overcome this fear in time, but I need to feel secure and have a predictable routine. If you think your home is one where I can learn new things, where I'll get lots of exercise both physically and mentally, then I know we'll do well together. It would certainly be worth a try for both of us. I am currently living in a boarding kennel, which is not the best situation for me because of my love for human companionship, so please take me home so I can settle down and be doted on.
