My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there I'm Dax! I'm a 8 month old Bull Terrier mix who is living it up in my foster home. My foster home consists of a very nice married couple, their infant son, 3 cats, and a foster dog sister. I'm extremely gentle with my little infant friend and I don't bother my cat roommates either. I do love playing with my canine foster girlfriend, but I also love napping on the couch. I have a great energy level for a dog my age. I'm playful but gentle and not overly rambunctious. I love to take long relaxing walks on a leash and I'm a joy to take on car rides. I greet everyone with a tail wag and a smile. I'm a smart guy and learned how to sit within days of being in foster care. I also have no issues going in my kennel or letting my foster parents know when I need to go outside. I'm super excited to meet the lucky family or person who adopts me. One last thing, although I probably don't need to mention this, my ears are amazing!

All of our pets start their journey in Memphis Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted.

In order to qualify for ALIVE’s program all of the following steps must be met: • You must be at least 24 years of age and be able to provide ALIVE with proof of age. • Any current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, and be spayed/neutered. Exceptions to this will only be considered if proof of a medical explanation is provided. • If you currently rent, you must provide a landlord’s phone number and a copy of your executed lease. • All members of the family living in the home where the animal will be placed must be interviewed. • Allow an ALIVE Rescue Memphis representative into your home for a visit to insure that your home is safe for the potential new dog or cat. • Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a pet. • Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog over 4 months of age is $250.00, a dog under 4 months of age is $275.00 and a cat is $150.00.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you submit an application immediately to start the adoption process. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, ALIVE Rescue Memphis is operated 100% by volunteers. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well educated decision from well qualified staff.
