Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Update 2/19/2016: Beau is about 13 1/2 yrs old now. Beau is a sweet old man that prefers his own company to that of other animals. He is a space guarder. He was trapped running feral in a southern swamp and has many old physical injuries. Broken bones, even shot in the leg. He is terrified on leash and has to be carried if off the property and it is a challenge even going to the vets. Luckily he has been healthy in spite of his old injuries. He was treated for heartworm and other swamp illnesses but has not had any issues since the initial treatment. He does enjoy his person and the fenced yard. He likes to sunbathe on the deck in pleasant weather. He is potty trained as well. He needs a home with quiet , patient people and a fenced yard. No children and preferably no other pets. he deserves to be the star attraction!!
Original Listing: Beau is approx 10 years old. He is about 35 pounds and is a Terrier mix. He was found running as a feral dog in the swamps of Virginia where he was trapped and turned over to rescue. He had a broken back, pelvic and hip that healed but not in great alignment. He was shot in the ankle at some point and has bullet fragments in his lower leg. His leg works but he does limp and it has the shape of a spatula. He was HW positive and had other swamp issues upon rescue. He is now HW negative and actually is fairly healthy at this point. He has the skeletal issues and his fractures are to old and numerous to fix per his Vet.
His biggest issues are emotional. While he is friendly to me, potty trained, uses a doggie door and knows the routine, he is still unable to be walked on a leash. He goes ballistic...he has to be carried to the Vet appointments and he thrashes the whole time. He needs a securely fenced yard due to his fear issues and he needs an adult home that is quiet with a nice routine. He can be bed territorial with other other animals.
