My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog is one of my favorites! Sporting a beautiful, shiny black coat, Dakota is super sweet, very calm and learns easily...I can't say enough great things about him! Dakota first came to us from a kill shelter where we pulled him just in time. This boy is now fully vetted, perfectly crate trained, walks well on a leash and sleeps with a volunteer at night (he loves to snuggle!). Dakota weighs 40 pounds and his estimated DOB is 3/1/16. He is such a fabulous dog...put him on a consistent schedule and he will be housetrained in no time! Dakota is great with other animals - not aggressive or dominant at all - and adores running and playing with the other pups here! This pup is looking for the perfect inside forever home where he will live as part of the family and get all the attention that he deserves! A large fenced in yard would be a plus for interactive playtime and we would like his adopter to enroll in at least a basic training course because he shows such potential to excel (and it's good for all owners/dogs to do anyway). If Dakota sounds like a great dog for you, contact us at info.caresga@gmail.com for an adoption application. We adopt up north and all over so please just ask for details. A vet reference is required to ensure Dakota a great home (this means you must own/have owned a dog/cat so we can verify the level of care they receive).
Adoption fees for puppies are $300, adults dogs are $250 and senior dogs are $150. This includes each animal being current on age appropriate vaccinations including DHPPL, bordetella and rabies, de-wormed for any internal parasites (round worms, hook worms, tape worms and whipworms), tested heart-worm negative (if positive, they are treated), tested negative for tick borne diseases, spayed/neutered, implanted with a mini micro-chip and have been examined by a veterinarian to certify that they are healthy. All animals are also on a monthly regime of flea and heartworm medication. Lifetime registration for the micro-chip is included in each adoption fee. In addition, each adopter will go home with a fitted collar, tags, a bag of dog food the pet has been on, Forti-Flora, and an adoption kit filled with valuable information and coupons as well as other various treats or toys as promotions become available. All puppy adoptions include a puppy training book, the Puppy Primer by Patricia McConnell, to help ensure a smooth transition for your new family member.
We ask that you consider an additional donation on top of this pet's adoption fee. This money will go directly into our Adoption Fund to be used exclusively for rescuing and caring for other pets in need. Many pets we take in have very high vet bills to get them healthy and adoptable for the public - much higher than their adoption fees. We receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from our community and caring adopters to continue our rescue efforts!
