Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Courtesy Post**
Bobo is a Blonde Silky Terrier, around 2 years old and weighs 8 pounds. He was found in the Corridor of Cruelty running with a pack of large dogs. The volunteer who was out that day to feed the stray dogs, opened her car door to get out the food and he jumped right in. He was ready to go home!
She couldn’t say no to that sweet face and the streets are truly not a safe place for such a itti bitty pup. Her mother agreed to take him in, as she was looking for a small dog companion for her Chihuahua. Unfortunately, her mother is facing some hardships and is not able to properly care for Bobo anymore. His rescuer has already a house full of dogs and wants nothing more for him then to be in a home where he can get all of the attention and care he deserves.
Here is what she has to say about him:
He is a love muffin, we jokingly refer to him as a bag of rags as he is maybe 6-8lbs and allows you to hold him and cuddle him in whatever way you wish. TOTAL lap dog! All he wants to do is be close to you. He does not really like being outside, unless there is something to bark at or look at. He is not great at urinating and defecating in the grass in a backyard if left outside by himself. If you go out with him he will go in the grass. He LOVES walks and will do his business on his walks. If he is walked 3-4 times a day he is fine. He has never hiked his leg in my house in the year he has been here. He will tickle if he is excited and he has not been out recently. Like new people in the house, you coming home and such. We have learned to ignore him so we do not feed into the excitement, so I believe that has helped too.
He will kennel, but it is not his safe place and he does not like it much. He eventually gets quiet. It has been a long road as we kennel all of ours at night...he would bark for an hour at first and now only makes a few protest. When he lived with my mother their crates were in her living room and open all day, he normally put himself to bed with no issues. So it could be the separation. Ours are all in one room. He has not been destructive when left out alone. So if we did not kennel ours I would leave him out.
As many former street dogs, Bobo is afraid of thunder and fireworks. We give him lots of composure and he does better, but he cannot be kenneled alone during these times as it freaks him out more. He gets along with other dogs and cats that do not run. He chases my cats, but if they face him he backs off. He never does anything if he catches up to them...it’s the chase. He is smart, and learns quickly. He likes routine and does better with it!
Bobo would do best with someone who is home most of the day, can walk him 3-4 times a day and won’t kennel him. He likes to be close to his human and is eager to please.
