My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO: 09/12/08: Hiya everypuppy! Baylee here! Seems I shrunk overnight, huh? I had a BIG day today. I went to the Dogtor and got all my shots. I was so good! He said I am a healthy little boy. The Dogtor also called me a "Porky-Yorkie". How rude! I told him that there's just more of me to love. Some people......

Well, then I went to the groomer. I think they did a fantabulous job on me. I am one sexy fella. It feels SO nice to be rid of all the matted hair. I am like a new pup. All I need is my toofers clean and I am good to go. So what are you waiting for? Fill out the application? Do it! Do it!

ORIGINAL BIO: 09/12/2008: Dear UYR, my name is Baylee. I told Foster Mom I wanted to write a great B-I-G 'thank you' letter to ALL the people who helped save me. She told me we could post it on da' internet or somethin'. So, here goes..........

Here's my story. I am a 5-6 year old, 17.4# yorkie. Yup, I said 17.4#. (I'm currently on a diet. Foster ma said I should be closer to 13-14# to be at a healthier weight. (Diets stink, but so did I when she rescued me..... so I guess we're even!)

My daddy was no longer able to care for me anymore. While he loved me, he worked long hours and didn't have much time for me at all. I got used to living by myself locked in a bedroom all day with nobody to play with me, talk to me, or just be with me. Then daddy had to leave town. When he did, he left me with his 94 year old mother. I over-heard her say she really wasn't a 'dog person'. I didn't know what that meant since she didn't LOOK like a dog? She wasn't even allowed to HAVE dogs where she lived; so, I never ever, ever got to go outside.... EVER. (I think that's how I got so plump.) Then one day, one of daddy's friends found United Yorkie Rescue and told my daddy that the nice people at UYR would find me a FURever home where I would be loved and doted on like a little prince.

When FM came over to Grammie's house I was so excited that I ran around and around and around in circles. Remember, I never ever went outside and Grammie wasn't good about reminding me where to potty. I need a little reminding, but I'm a smart boy and will remember what I'm s'posed to do in no time FLAT. I so wanted FM to take me right away, but we had to wait until daddy could sign me over to UYR. Turns out he loved me enough to know I deserved better. He signed me over and here I am!!!!

I am getting a FURcut tomorrow because I am so matted and a dental next week. Since I'm already noo-tered I can be adopted very soon. Since I've been here only a few hours, here's what I told FM we should tell people about me:
1) I am super friendly and like other dogs. When I meet them I just wag my tail!
2) I know how to sit.
3) I like to eat (hey, yorkies are traditionally picky eaters. I'll eat anything!)
4) Ok, here's a not-so-good one..... I need to brush up on housetraining, but I definitely go to the door and show you I want to potty outside.
5) When you leave, I am very brave and loyal and will wait by the window for you to come home.
6) Please don't take a firm tone with me. I get skeered and roll-over and show you my tummy.
7) I am K with a capital K-U-T-E!!!!
8) Please take me home! :)
9) UYR saved my life and I owe them yorkie wags and kisses FURever!
Luv, Baylee
