Please contact Karen (RGS187396@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Meet Chewie
Chewie is a 9 month old yorkie griffon mix. He was rescued from a breeder that keeps all her dogs in the basement.
They will be neutered the week of September 20.
Chewy is a very sweet little guy. He and his brother are both only 3 pounds. They make such a cute pair!
Chewy will require daily care of his right eye after adoption. He was born with a condition called dry eye. His right eye does not have enough tear ducts to keep his eye moist. Without moisture the eyelids don't move smoothly and irritate the eye. Chewy will need daily medication in his eye for the rest of his life. Treated properly, this condition does not hurt the dog. The pain comes when the eyes are left untreated and dry.
Chewy, like Cooper, also had many baby teeth still in his mouth that had not fallen out when his adult teeth came in. Because they were not removed some of his front teeth have grown in funny. His bottom canines are not as tall as you would expect and his incisors are very crammed together. This does not have an affect on his eating though; dogs chew with their back teeth, which his are all fine!
Both Chewy and Cooper have mildly luxating patellas of both legs. This is a very common occurance in small breed dogs. Neither puppy has had any problems with the knees, but as the doctor was examining them he was able to luxate their patellas. Knees that have chronic problems with the patellas luxating during movement can be surgically corrected, but many dogs live normal lives with mild luxating patellas.
Chewie is now in his foster home learning what it is like to be a loving companion and working on housebreaking.
Chewie is looking for a home that will love this little guy for life. If you got arms that need to be filled with a bundle of joy..

makes believers out of many that feel that the animals end
up in Animal Controls and homeless because of the faults of the animal.
We look forward to updates
