Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tootsie was first adopted from the shelter a little more than 2 years ago, but tragically lost her companion and thus was returned to the shelter, where we hope to get her back into a loving home soon -- this elder cat deserves much better than life in a cage. She came back to us on September 22, and continues to try to find her real "home" and companion, roaming the room, crying at the door, looking out the window, and coming to us to be held and loved. She is a sweet, soft, dear thing, but does need to be fattened up a little, and could use a little grooming. We are hoping to accomplish both while she waits for her next home -- but would gladly have a compassionate soul take her home to do those things for her in a much nicer environment. Other than her slight underweight and her need for a good brushing, and that she seems a little hard of hearing, she appears to be in good health. We know she's fine with other cats and would probably be fine with gentle dogs and children who are accustomed to living with an elder cat.
Tootsie is estimated to be 12 years old, is box-trained, spayed, current on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. For more information on Tootsie, or an adoption application, email ClayvilleCritters@cox.net, call the shelter at (401) 647-7200, or visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Fri 7 to 11 a.m., Thursday 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A digital application can be downloaded by clicking the "Cat Adoption Form PDF" link below, filled in with Acrobat Reader (also available as a mobile app), and emailed to ClayvilleCritters@cox.net.
