Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Poor Iggy lost his home, the victim of a divorce, and was left outside to fend for himself. His kind-hearted neighbors fed him until they could get him in to the shelter to see the vet and be made available for adoption, so that he might have a chance at a second home, one that would cherish him forever and not leave him to the elements -- or worse. He is a large, loving boy, with lynx-point Siamese markings, and loves being held and kissed by his volunteer friends, but is still a little shy with the other shelter cats. He finds a quiet spot to observe their shenanigans, and occasionally ventures from it to check out his new environment, and to get a little attention from the volunteers. He defers to his fellow felines, but is not afraid of them. His Good Samaritans told us that he did live with another cat and a dog in the past, so we're pretty sure he'll be fine in a home with either animal. And he's so sweet and affectionate, he would probably be a good candidate for a family with children.
Iggy is about 6 years old, is box-trained, neutered, current on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Adoption fee for adult cats is $50 (cash or check only, please). For more information on Iggy, or an adoption application, email ClayvilleCritters@cox.net, call the shelter at (401) 647-7200, or visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Fri 7 to 11 a.m., Thursday 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
