Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Becky is the live wire of this Australian Cattle Dog family. At approximately 5-6 months of age, she is walking next to her person while loose in an enclosed area, learning sit, down and wait. She is on the higher energy side, but she is still a puppy. Becky has experimented with the agility equipment in her foster home and will already go to the Table and do low jumps very willingly. Becky can be a bit jumpy to the touch and we are working on that with this sensitive girl. She is never afraid of loud noises, movements or new experiences, just a bit squeamish to touch. Becky needs a home where she will have some continued obedience training and possibly a sport or hiking to think about and burn off energy. No small children although she has been raised with children, over age 10 would be best.
Her bloodlines have been a part of a Texas and Tennessee family who have raised these dogs to herd cattle on their ranch since 1951. These dogs were bred to herd while still being a part of the family. NOT your typical Cattle Dogs! The family is no longer breeding these dogs and chose CTHDR to help them place these puppies as well as the Mom. Adoption applications being taken immediately-these dogs have not been in a shelter and came to us by private transportation.
Becky is working on leash manners, crate training and riding in the car as well as her agility skills appropriate for her age.
Becky is up to date on vaccines and will have a spay agreement requiring spay at one year of age. She has also been de-wormed and is on flea/tick and heart worm prevention.
