Here's what the humans have to say about me:
~adoption fee applies, if serious please email caarescue@gmail.com ~
My name is Gemma! I was rescued by CAA and their kind foster family from a pound. I had been picked up roam the North Shore all by myself and after a week long stay at the pound no one came for me and no one called about me. My time was up and thankfully CAA was there.
When they agreed to take me in they thought I was a 4 month old puppy due to my size but I was quickly brought to Animal 911 vet and they confirmed that I am not 4 months by at least 6 months old as my adult teeth were already in. My growth was stunted due to lack of nourishment … I was very tiny and very skinny! But don’t you worry about it. My appetite is healthy and my foster family is working on getting some meat on my bones.
I am very much a baby puppy though as it is clear no one showed me any basic rules, so I am learning them all now
I am still working on learning to hold and do my business outside. Right now I am afraid I still do have accidents in the home more often than not so I will need my new family to be patient and to keep teaching me
I walk awesome on the leash now! Almost so well that you hardly even need one for me, I am a fast learner
When I first arrived at my foster home I was vocal but after I settled down and became comfortable there has been no barking. So it is possible that I am only vocal in situations where I might be nervous
I am currently being crated when left alone because as a puppy there are just too many fun things to chew on when the humans leave me alone for 5 hours! Since they realized after the first day that I am a smart cookie and can open my crate door myself they have learned to add an additional latch that I have not yet managed to open.
I am dog friendly
I absolutely LOVE people huge BIG TIME!
I have not been tested with cats, I have seen them on my walks but I pay no attention to them
I enjoy car rides!
I show no possession aggression at this time in foster care
My foster mom has this to say about me: She is an amazing dog very calm and affectionate she needs a family who can give her lots of belly rims and snuggles...she is a total attention whore

If you choose to adopt Gemma your biggest challenges will be the house training, she is learning a lot in her foster home but convincing Gemma that business is done outside will be a long process
If you would like to meet Gemma at her home in Pointe Claire please write to CAARescue@gmail.com we will ask you to complete an adoption application so that we can learn a little more about you and if you are a perfect fit for Gemma we will make arrangements for you to meet her for potential adoption
A 3-Step process to adopt:
1. Fill the adoption form. It might seem long, but it’s the best way to find the right dog for you and your family!
2. We’ll arrange a meeting with the foster family of the dog you want to meet so you can see if she’s the right one for you.
3. If you decide to move forward, you’ll be asked to agree to a home visit, fill-in and sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
