My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PAUL'S INFO:

Paul (o the left) is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FELV/FIV, litter box trained and is microchipped. Best guestimate is that he is approximately 10 years old. He is a gentle cat, sweet and has a tiny little voice.

Paul is a "talker," and a playful cat and is happy to play all by himself and throw his toys up in the air, stalk them and bat them around the room. He will make you laugh! He likes to be petted and brushed, and is what we would consider a medium-sized cat.

Paul was rescued with his best friend Peter. Patrick (who is also up for adoption), was also part of the family but Patrick is more of a loner. When Paul and Peter were rescued they were extremely bonded and comforted one another. Sadly, Peter passed away and Paul and Patrick are the remaining two cats of the three we rescued.

The story of the 3 P's: Paul, Peter, and Patrick were once indoor cats but became homeless after their Dad passed away and the house was sold. All three boys lived outdoors for a year and a half. Even though they had shelter and were fed we were concerned about their safety and health because NJ's winter's are very cold and bitter and sometimes subzero temperatures.

Paul has recently been diagnosed as diabetic and is in remission. We glucose test him once a day and he has not needed insulin in over 4 months!

We know if would take a special person to adopt one or both of these very sweet diabetic boys. If you can't adopt, perhaps you would like to help support their care? Donations can be sent via PayPal or mailed to CATS, P.O. Box 344, Belvidere, NJ 07823. Updated 2/22/22.

Additional adoption info

We require a pre-adoption application which supplies information to us about the type of cat that would be suitable for the adopter and the home environment.

We visit the home with our cats (cats that interest the adopter, and cats that we believe may be a good match for the adopter). We have a leisurely visit with the potential adopter and we all observe the reactions of the cats with the people, and reactions of the people to the cats.

Our fees are usually below $100 and all cats are sterilized, have received age-appropriate vaccinations, were tested for FELV/FIV, wormed, treated for fleas, and most are microchipped.

We do not allow declawing of our cats, and all cats are adopted as indoor-only pets. Under certain circumstances we will adopt out cats that are suitable as barn cats.

Go meet their pets

Adopters can visit cats in their foster homes, and all arrangements are made with the foster family as to date and time of visit.

Private, in-home visits, can also be arranged in the adopter's home, especially if several cats are appealing to the adopter.

More about this rescue

We are all volunteers in this group. Donations allow us to continue our work so that thousands of kittens are not born every year to feral and stray cats.

We organized this group because we do not agree that killing healthy animals is the answer to the pet population problem. We also believe that feral cats have the right to live. We provide education and assistance to people that want to trap cats and get them sterilized and vaccinated.

We make ourselves available to the independent feral cat caretaker, and independent cat owner, and help publicize their adoptable kittens and cats on our web site and at fund raising events.

During the last several years, our organization has prevented hundreds of thousands of kitten births, and helped find hundreds of homes for cats and kittens.
