Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Penelope or Penny as we call her here in our home is a very sweet girl who obviously has come from a very rough start. When she first came, she was very skinny, full of scrapes & patches of fur were missing from malnourishment. Now after over a month in fostercare, she has started filling in & her coat is becoming more & more beautiful with the hair coming back in again. She has recovered from her kennel cough, which she got in the NYC shelter (Penny is a euth list survivor) & she had gone through a cycle of heat while having the kennel cough, which was lucky since we couldn't spay her for a while after she has gone through heat. She is scheduled for her spay on 8/18/16 & then after that she is ready to be adopted! We would say that Penny would do best as an only dog with a family that will let Penny be Penny. She loves to be with her people, but she can be independent too. She does very well being alone crated for a full work day & so it would be fine if she was adopted by someone who works full time. She loves tennis balls but immediately shreds them & she adores fetch but she never brings the ball back! She is very interested in everything you have for her & is highly food motivated. We have noticed that Penny will chase squirrels so we are guessing she might chase cats as well but you never know... we don't have cats in our home. Overall, Penny is a really good, easy girl. She needs more training & guidance as it's obvious she really wasn't well loved in the beginning. She has learned to "sit" when asked & we expect that as time goes on she will learn a whole lot more... she's a fabulous girl... with a whole lotta love to give!!!
