Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hey, Dorsey here! Yep, that's me, can you tell already that I enjoy being the center of attention?? Let me tell you about myself. I retired as a professional athlete in July of 2016 and yes, I won some of my races. I'm just a happy go lucky kinda friendly guy looking for my forever home now. I'm ready for life as a professional pet and um...couch potato.
As if that isn't enough already... I'm a beautiful sleek black with an athletic build. So, if you like the tall, dark and handsome type I just might be your guy.
Contact my friends at Royal Hounds if you'd like to meet me by downloading an application at the bottom of this web page and email it in http://www.royalhounds.org/adopt.html
See you soon,
Dorsey
Foster Home Update: Dorsey (or Dorsal Fin) has settled in nicely and is doing great. He loves his attention, and will butt right in to get his share of pets and loves. He has mastered our stairs and jumps into the car willingly to go for rides. He can be a bit mischievous and will pick things off the counter, shelves or night stands if he thinks they look interesting. He had some food aggression at first but that has been getting much better. He can be bed possessive like so many greyhounds can and growls at the other dogs when he is on a dog bed if they get too close – we are firm with him when he does this. Potty training is a work in progress but success should be easier with a dog door. Dorsey likes to be with people and loves toys and romping around the yard tossing around a stuffie.
If you’re looking for a sweet as honey hound with a big personality, Dorsey’s your guy! He’s got a zest for life and will be a wonderful addition to a loving family!
A fenced yard is required to adopt Dorsey.
Our policy is to reserve the cat-trainable dogs for those homes that truly require them. If you have no small animals, you will need to adopt a dog that is not deemed small animal trainable.
