My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Olivia is a year old (DOB 10/27/15) Sheltie/Border Collie mix pup who's about 35 pounds. She was adopted and returned a month later for "behavioral reasons". Olivia needs someone who understands what a puppy is, the time commitment needed and that crate training is important (do not leave a puppy alone in the house and leave for work all day - they chew!). Olivia was originally rescued out of a high kill shelter just in time. Olivia is friendly and sweet and can be quite submissive. She is quick to roll over on her back when she is scared or doesn't understand something. Olivia needs an owner who is willing to take her to training classes which will give her confidence she is lacking. Olivia is super playful and loves playing with all the foster dogs here. She is perfectly crate trained, walks well on a leash and would house train quickly if taken out on a regular schedule. This girl loves toys. We tried to upload a video but it was too long. If you are interested in adopting Olivia, contact us at info.caresga@gmail.com for an adoption application or you can download one directly from our website www.caresga.org. We do adopt up North as well as all over the US so please just email with questions. Vet reference is required (app will ask for your vet's info). Without this and proof of your pets being maintained on monthly heartworm preventative, we cannot approve you.
Adoption fees for puppies are $300, adults dogs are $250 and senior dogs are $150. This includes each animal being current on age appropriate vaccinations including DHPPL, bordetella and rabies, de-wormed for any internal parasites (round worms, hook worms, tape worms and whipworms), tested heart-worm negative (if positive, they are treated), tested negative for tick borne diseases, spayed/neutered, implanted with a mini micro-chip and have been examined by a veterinarian to certify that they are healthy. All animals are also on a monthly regime of flea and heartworm medication. Lifetime registration for the micro-chip is included in each adoption fee. In addition, each adopter will go home with a fitted collar, tags, a bag of dog food the pet has been on, Forti-Flora, and an adoption kit filled with valuable information and coupons as well as other various treats or toys as promotions become available. All puppy adoptions include a puppy training book, the Puppy Primer by Patricia McConnell, to help ensure a smooth transition for your new family member.
We ask that you consider an additional donation on top of this pet's adoption fee. This money will go directly into our Adoption Fund to be used exclusively for rescuing and caring for other pets in need. Many pets we take in have very high vet bills to get them healthy and adoptable for the public - much higher than their adoption fees. We receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from our community and caring adopters to continue our rescue efforts!
