My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cruiser was an owner surrender from a lady who could no longer care for him. He came in matted, had sarcoptic mange (contagious), and very anemic from the flea infestation. It was so bad his gums were completely white and he was lethargic and near death. He almost had to have a blood transfusion but he stayed at the vet, they did blood work for several days and his levels improved greatly just from removing the fleas. He regained his strength, went back to eating and is healthy now. Cruiser's date of birth is 12/11/11 so he is almost 5 years old and weighs 16.8 pounds. He is crate trained but really doesn't have to be crated at all as he is great in the house and is completely house-trained. Cruiser loves to go for walks and will dance, sing and get excited when he sees the leash come out! He also gets along with all dogs as well as cats. This cutie is super easy maintenance. Because of the matting, the groomer had to shave him down but his hair is growing back and, if properly maintained, will be long and beautiful soon. This boy is fully vetted and ready for his forever home! He is looking for an inside forever home where he will get lots of love and attention that he deserves. Could Cruiser be the perfect mate for you? If you are interested in Cruiser, you can contact us at info.caresga@gmail.com for an adoption application or you can download an app directly from our website www.caresga.org! A vet reference is required for adoption approval (this means you must have or previously have had a dog or cat so we can verify that they were sterilized, current on all vaccines and on monthly heartworm and flea preventatives). WE DO ADOPT UP NORTH and all over so just e-mail us for details! Cruiser's adoption fee is $350 which is higher than the standard fees but still much lower than the vetting costs we have in him.
This includes each animal being current on age appropriate vaccinations including DHPPL, bordetella and rabies, de-wormed for any internal parasites (round worms, hook worms, tape worms and whipworms), tested heart-worm negative (if positive, they are treated), tested negative for tick borne diseases, spayed/neutered, implanted with a mini micro-chip and have been examined by a veterinarian to certify that they are healthy. All animals are also on a monthly regime of flea and heartworm medication. Lifetime registration for the micro-chip as well as 30 days of free pet insurance is also included in each adoption fee. In addition, each adopter will go home with a fitted collar, tags, a bag of dog food the pet has been on, Forti-Flora, and an adoption kit filled with valuable information and coupons as well as other various treats or toys as promotions become available. All puppy adoptions include a puppy training book, the Puppy Primer by Patricia McConnell, to help ensure a smooth transition for your new family member.
We ask that you consider an additional donation on top of this pet's adoption fee. This money will go directly into our Adoption Fund to be used exclusively for rescuing and caring for other pets in need. Many pets we take in have very high vet bills to get them healthy and adoptable for the public - much higher than their adoption fees. We receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from our community and caring adopters to continue our rescue efforts!
