Ruby & Pearl are twins that we received a while back. When we got them they were pretty much feral. They have quickly adjusted and are sweet girls. Ruby is a bit more mellow than her sister Pearl. Ruby would prefer to go run & play for a bit and then come sit with you to watch the others play. Pearl is a bit more dominant but not an alpha. Both girls are high energy and love chew toys.
They did have color coded collars so that we could tell them apart from afar but they have since outgrown them. Ruby of course wore a red one and Pearl wore a sparkly black one. Now we can tell them apart by the white markings on their chest. Pearl has a larger diamond shaped patch that is visible all the time. Ruby has a patch as well, but hers is much smaller and is not visible unless she is right in front of you or has her belly in the air.
They do NOT have to be adopted as a pair. But they should go to a home where there is another dog or where they will get lots of activity and interaction the family. The girls currently share an extra large kennel and both are fed together in that kennel. There is no food agression or dominance shown while sharing the space. They have been seperated and both did fine while kennelled seperately.
Ruby and Pearl are about a year old now and weigh between 40-45 pounds. They are tall and skinny - no matter how many bowls of food they eat in a day! Either would be a great addition to a household that likes to enjoy the outdoors.
