~~Aurora (“Rory”) is a beautiful 6 year old black and tan female German Shepherd. She is a very sweet girl who is very smart and obedient. She is well trained and knows quite a few commands. Among these are sit, down, stay, heel (a work in progress, leave it, come, and no. Any others have yet to reveal themselves to me. She walks well on a leash and loves car rides. She is good with children and if properly introduced, she is good with other dogs. In the 3 weeks that I have had the privilege of fostering her, she has shown herself to be loyal, fun loving, energetic, and very well behaved. She had no difficulty settling into my home and into my life. I would call her a “Velcro” dog as she always wants to be wherever I am. She is very affectionate and extremely generous with her kisses. She is a dream dog. Roy loves exercise and would love to find a home with an active family. We currently walk upwards of 5 miles each day. She could easily do another 5 miles without a pant! She does have a fairly strong prey drive. I do not think that she would do well in a home with cats. Rory has some special needs. She has a condition called EPI which is an insufficiency of pancreatic enzymes which are essential for digesting food. This condition is very easily managed by the addition of a pancreatic enzyme powder to her food. She is currently in great health and her condition stabilized.
