Dear Potential Forever Family,

Hi, I’m Vermeer… a very charming, yet quirky 8 year old Schnauzer with a zest for life. Since being rescued from the shelter, I’ve been working on my tiptop shape and finally feel healthy and happy enough to show my true personality, which is sweet, spunky, and kinda playful. I have lots of energy and love going on walks and might even have fun running or going on some hikes. I walk really well on a leash and am a friendly guy to all I meet. There’s not a dog I’ve met yet that I don’t get along with, but I’ve also got pretty firm boundaries and am not afraid to tell them to stop messing with me if the need arises. I definitely will not do well on my own all day and look forward to having someone to spend time with. I’m working on my basic commands now so hopefully you’ll be impressed when we meet and I might even be able to show you a few tricks. I am very smart and a really good listener. My intention is to please you so I hope you’re happy with all my effort. I don’t mind being in my crate for some “me time,” but I would rather be lounging or hanging out with you. I’m the type who misses my person when they’re gone and am eager to greet you with a couple kisses and maybe even a hug. I LOVE to nuzzle up to you and I learn best through gentle, yet firm guidance and praise. If your lifestyle matches what I’m looking for, then I would PAWsitively love to meet you!
