I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile, I’d love to meet you. Let me tell you a little bit about adopting me.
My name is Kai and I am a 4 year old neutered male Poodle who came to NBS Animal Rescue from a city shelter where I was found as a stray. My fur was very matted and over grown and I was so very thankful to the kind shelter and rescue people who helped me get a bath and a professional grooming to feel better! It's been a rough few weeks for me all alone on the streets, but, things are definitely looking up for me as I love my foster mom who is taking excellent care of me as I look for my fur-ever home.
I am a sweet and loving fella who my foster mom calls a "social butterfly." I love to meet new people, new dogs, go for walks and explore new environments with my foster mom, snuggle on the couch, and play with toys. I also give excellent doggy kisses to all the people I love and trust! I am living with two other small dogs who I get along nicely with - we play sometimes, we lie quietly around each other sometimes, and we play with toys sometimes. My foster mom says I'm a really sweet boy who loves to spend time around people I trust. I am doing well with potty training and if you take me outside often I do really well! I weigh a whopping 4.5 lbs so I am looking for a home that does not have large hyper dogs or small children who might accidentally hurt my fragile little bones.
My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me?
These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Family who is gone no longer than 5 hour periods.
- Children must be 12yrs or older.
- 100% fenced in yard with traditional cyclone fencing or privacy fence preferred. If home does not have a fully fenced in yard, application must list specific arrangements for dog walkers, doggy day care, multiple walks per day, etc.
If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:
1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!
Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and are ready to apply, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family just yet. However, would you please help by sharing my picture on Facebook, twitter or by email? I'm a great pup and need a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
