Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We're calling him Houdini because when he first came into the adoptable cat room, he would pull his little cat blanket over his face and hide from us! But in just a week, he's freeing himself of his initial fears, and we are discovering what a sweet boy he is. He is fond of his human friends, and enjoys being petted and kissed on the head, digging his paws softly into his bed and purring, and also likes playing with his mouse toys and tossing them out his open cage door, but he's still a little shy about coming out of his cage to meet the other cats. He is easy to handle, even if he is still a little nervous that we might throw him to the lions when we pick him up! He was looked after by a Good Samaritan who brought him in to see the vet so he could find a real home, so we know he's been with other cats before, and shows no signs of having had any real fights with others. In fact, he seems like a very submissive male cat, and with a little time and love, will become a sweet companion cat for most families, including those with children.
Houdini is estimated to be 3 years old, is box-trained, neutered, current on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Adoption fee for adult cats is $50 (cash or check only, please). For more information on Houdini, or an adoption application, email ClayvilleCritters@cox.net, call the shelter at (401) 647-7200, or visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Fri 7 to 11 a.m., Thursday 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
