This beautiful Boston, with an inky black coat and pretty brown eye, is Susie Q Robin. She is 6 years old and currently weighs 38 pounds. She originally arrived at the BTRFL from an owner who rescued her from a puppy mill breeder. Her former owner felt she would be in better hands with the rescue due her working long hours as a nurse. The rescue took Susie Q in knowing that she had some special needs. Susie Q is blind in her right eye and has a history of seizures, potentially due to some sort of unknown head trauma according to her veterinarians. The rescue has monitored Susie Q’s seizures and shown that they have only occurred while she is sleeping. Susie Q has no problems taking her medication twice a day when it is hidden inside a treat.
Susie Q fits right in with her other foster companions and is very comfortable with her new living environment. Susie Q gets along very well with other dogs and cats and has shown no aggression. She loves hanging out inside and being lazy on the couch with you and will be especially attentive if you are in the kitchen. She also loves being outside and going for walks and checking out trails at the dog park. Susie Q is excellent on a leash, is crate trained, and knows sit, come, and crate. She gets so excited when you come home.
Her special needs/rehabilitation foster felt that Susie Q was in great health and her seizures were greatly minimized after the vet configured the right dosage of medication. Susie Q was placed with another foster and again easily adjusted. It was the hope of the rescue that this pretty lady will find a special forever home. Susie Q’s first adoption was unsuccessful for several different reasons and after getting feedback from the adopters, it was decided it was in Susie Q’s best interests that she be returned to the rescue. At this time Susie Q is back with her foster home being cared for and has had no issues adjusting.
With Susie Q Robin's excellent demeanor and great looks, won't you be her special someone?
