Miss Celeste has arrived at her foster home here in Wisconsin. We are calling her Ceelie and it has taken me a couple of days to get her settled in and her situation wrapped around my brain. There was a note attached to her paperwork indicating she was going to be put to sleep the next morning. After meeting her, that note absolutely slaps you in the face. She was a stray who had been dropped off at a shelter. When she went to the vet to be spayed, it was determined she had sarcoptic mange, which is treatable but costly for a shelter, so the spay wasn't done and she was sent back to the shelter - to die. And she would have died the next morning if Col Potter hadn't fought hard to save her. At our vet, another test was run and she has very little thyroid function which could account for the condition of her skin. She's been started on a pill twice a day for the low thyroid, and mange may not be a problem at all. Celeste's coat is coming in nicely now and......

Celeste is being fostered in Neenah, Wisconsin in a PRIVATE FOSTER HOME but we allow our dogs to be adopted out all over the United States and Canada!
