Saturday she went for her very first grooming. The shop was closed except for Chicory and the groomer, who gave her lots of TLC. Our little Cairn emerged from her morning at the beauty parlor transformed. She radiated a platinum glow and looked like a movie star, perhaps a very tiny Mae West. But then she walked away from me and I saw just a hint of a duck waddle, reminding more of a Charlie Chaplin. She still has some fears, but would do well with the remaining steps toward being a Cairn Princess (and a bit of a clown) with her forever family. They will treasure every little step. Just today her forever family missed her first ice cube chase! She and the cube went careening around the kitchen, but the ice cube kept escaping. And then - the darn thing disappeared! And tonight she wrestled and ran and barked with our Cairn. For the first time! She is gentle and loving (she slept on my lap for two hours last night while I was at the computer.) She will have so much fun and joy in the next several months; she will have so many firsts. Apply to be Chicory's forever family now so you can experience all this with her!
