My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trudy here - I had a birthday on Thursday and turned a whole year old. I even got a special toy and foster mom sang Happy Birthday to me. I was having so much fun but you know, it would have been even greater if I was in my very own home. Anybody out there want the cutest little girl in Col. Potter land to be your very own Cairn Princess?
Foster Mom here: Trudy is doing so well. She is living with 5 other dogs here and is doing great with them. We are working on the toy aggression and this has gotten so much better. She still does not like it when another dog picks up a toy but is slowly learning to just glare at them, rather than attack. I am seriously thinking that Trudy would do okay in a home with a male dog that is not overly crazy about toys so that she could have most of them to herself. After all, she is the 'princess' you know. She loves both of my male dogs and has a great time playing with them. She will entice one or the other to play with her several times throughout the day and absolutely loves this and there is never any 'bad words' or fights. If she gets too rough, they let her know and she backs right down.
Her food aggression is a work in progress and I do feed her totally separate and this may have to be the case always. She has no problem with me standing right next to her and with me picking up the bowl when she is done but if the other dogs get to close to the baby gate, she growls and lets them know to stay away. She, however, can now have treats with the other dogs, sits and waits her turn, and gently takes it from my hand. Trudy is a happy, energetic, fun loving, little girl who is a joy to have around. She loves people and has not met a stranger yet. Trudy would benefit from some obedience training but is a smart, little girl and is learning really fast what is 'good' and what is 'bad'.
