My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Silk is an 8-year-old wheaten Cairn who has lived her entire life in a commercial breeding facility. She came into CP pregnant with her last litter. On November 24, Silk delivered 3 healthy puppies, two males and one female. She is a wonderful mama, caring for her last litter with such warmth and love. You see, that’s Silk. She has the most wonderful gentle soul I have ever seen! The first week I had Silk, she learned to go through both the front door and back glass sliding doors. She also mastered a full set of outside deck steps. She walks on a leash cautiously, but with each walk she becomes more comfortable with the great big outdoors. She is wonderful with my pack, and they are with her. She is learning what it is to run free and play with other pets. Silk has the sweetest personality, she smiles, all the time, as if to say, “hey foster mom, this place is pretty neat”! Silk is a sweet, wonderful Cairn, whose independent Cairn spirit kept her alive all those miserable years. Her journey to pethood is going to be a short one. Silk is now available for adoption because she is finished raising her three adorable babies. Don’t wait to put your application in for her - she’s not going to last long. Silk is amazing.

Silk is being fostered in Manases, Virginia in a PRIVATE FOSTER HOME but we allow our dogs to be adopted out all over the United States and Canada!
