Bubbee is a stunning, two-year-old Boxer. Bubbee was surrendered to rescue by his owners because they claimed that they could not handle having an active young dog in the house with their new baby. When Bubbee arrived at his foster home, it was clear that his owners had been unable (or unwilling) to handle more than his activity level. They had left an abscess untreated for an extended time before he was surrendered. Sometimes the best thing that can happen to a dog is for it to find its way to a rescue like Puppy Porch. Within 36 hours of getting into rescue, Bubbee had surgery to address this serious infection!
Bubbee is now enjoying his time in foster care. He is very playful and outgoing. He is relatively good with other dogs, but he really doesn't adjust his play to the size of his playmate. He loves playing with toys and is starting to chew on rawhides now that his mouth doesn't hurt so much. He is tolerant of cats. He appears to be housetrained, and he has had some obedience training. Bubbee is probably too high energy for homes with children under 10.
Because we want to ensure that Bubbee's next homes will be prepared for life with a young Boxer, preference will be given to applicants with Boxer experience. Bubbee does not like to be seperated from his people, so he needs to be crated when home alone. Bubbee is willing to tell the whole world that he was abandoned, so he is not a dog who would do well in a home with shared walls. A fenced yard is also prefered but not required.
