Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Gabe! Gabe is a sweet one year old, rescued from a backyard breeder when his dogs were confiscated due to drug charges, who would like to tell you about himself:
My foster mom enjoys watching me experience all the new things in my life and thinks you will fall in love with me soon too,, as I explore life and learn how to be a dog that is loved in my forever home.
I love life and doing fun, athletic things like going for a walk, playing with a big red Jolly Ball and a Kong Bouncer, tugging on my Uber Tether Tug, going for a ride in a John Deer Gator Utility Car, Golf Cart or boat, and most of all, just being out and getting to hang with my foster family. I also love it when my foster mom gives me a rub and scratch for being a good boy. I am a love bug. I do have a little bit crate anxiety when I have to go back in my crate after spending quality time with my people, but quiet down after a few minutes and snuggle in for my stay. I am now crate trained and even sleep in it at night and when my foster family is away from the house. I am also doing great at obedience and manners training!
I get along with everyone I meet, although I might be a little shy at first with new things and people. Just give me a minute or two while I adjust to the idea of something new. I also love being around other dogs, but I sometimes come off a little overbearing, but am working on learning how to appropriately greet others. Once I realize I need to be respectful, I am happy to be 'on place', gently play with other dogs or just hang with my peeps.
I would prefer my family guide me towards meeting their expectations and being the dog they want me to be. I need daily exercise for both my body and my mind. I love to go on walks and see new things but I also learned how to walk on a treadmill. I sometimes eat my food a little quickly so periodically I will eat my food out of a Northgate Green Feeder or Kong Wobbler to remind me I need to eat slowly. I also need a home that will continue my obedience training so I stay a loving, kind boy with good manners. Could you be the one giving me that forever home?
