Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Buds Story
Rescued June 30, 2016. Got a call from a guy saying he found a dog, or the dog found him as he made himself a home in his bushes trying to escape the heat. He had a rope embedded around his neck. He offered his back yard to him by opening the gate and he went in. gave him food and water and he drank about a gallon. After 2 days the wife said he had to get rid of him, so he took to the San Bernardino City Shelter. According to the records, they removed the rope and treated the wound. This guy had visited this boy everyday hoping someone would adopt him. To his dismay, the shelter staff advised he was on the euthanasia list and would not make it past this weekend. He was desperate to find a solution and came across my name and number. He called, told me the story and I could not let this boy die this weekend. With the help of partner rescues, the David Toro Foundation pulled him off the Euthanasia list and went and got him. He went the Vet to get neutered and shots, his wounds from the rope had already healed.
The guy who found him, turned him in, found me to pull and take to the vet, offered to foster him 7-10 days, but at the last minute called me saying his wife was furious and cannot take him in. To his credit, the bill came out to $240.00 and he paid half of it.
After picking him up from the vet, Bud and I sat in my car with no place to go, after several hours of networking, I was able to find someone willing to let Bud come over and meet his dog that was looking for a friend, they get along great, but Bud’s high energy was a concern, he would however, let Bud stay while looking for a forever home.
It has now been over a month and unfortunately Bud has only had a few interests, most people are looking for a docile dog that will be gentle and low key. Bud is neither. He needs a yard to run and play and would not be bad with another dog. The person fostering can no longer keep him do to a surgery he will be having soon. He needs Bud to go somewhere else.
I took Bud to a training class and I was surprised how well he did, he learned to sit and down. They also did a procedure to teach him who is dominant, which he complied with well. The trainer felt he is very trainable, but with anything will need that time to learn.
I’m desperately looking for someone to adopt Bud or for another rescue to take Bud into their rescue.
