My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LADY is a 3 year old spayed yellow female Lab who weighs 57 pounds. She is a sweet young girl with fantastic manners. She LOVES to play with her two foster brothers and follows her foster mom around the house. She is completely house trained and does not chew anything except her toys. She loves the water and playing in a big yard. Like every young Lab, she needs a lot of exercise. Lady also needs to go to a home with another dog - one that is willing to play with her. She can clear a four-foot fence so she must go to a home with a 6 ft. fence. Lady has been around young kids but never lived with any so kids 10 and up. Good with other dogs, but she does bark when greeting others on a leash. A quiet neighborhood or rural area will be best for her. No cat history. Lady is approved for kids ages 10+.

Update:: Lady loves her walks. She gets very excited when she sees the leash. However she doesn't seem disappointed if her walks are cut short due to the recent hot weather. Normally she gets a walk in the morning, a walk mid-day, and a longer walk at night, around 45 minutes. She also goes swimming on the weekends for at least an hour, and she loves to do that. Inside the house, you will mainly find Lady sleeping or looking out the window. She is super chill. She will play with toys on occasion, and sometimes will play tug with the resident dog, but mainly she sticks to herself. If she has regular and daily exercise, I would consider her to be mid energy. She has a high prey drive, so should not be around small dogs or cats. She doesn't really like riding in the car, even though she's going to go swimming, so longer trips should be avoided. She will do best in a quiet neighborhood without too many things going on. She's looking for a family who will exercise her daily but not in a dog park. This beautiful girl is still waiting to get adopted.

Update: Lady is a beautiful young girl who is looking for a forever home that will give her love and regular exercise. She enjoys running and playing, especially with other dogs so she is looking for a playful canine buddy and a good sized yard with a physical 6 foot fence. Like most young labs, she has a good amount of energy which needs to be burned off daily. Lady is very well behaved in the house and knows basic commands. One thing that Lady absolutely loves is going for rides in the car. If you give her the opportunity of an open car door, she will hop right in ready to go for a drive! Lady has had some basic interactions with the resident cat who is very dog savvy. Lady will chase if the cat runs, but other types of interactions have been ok. She is overly interested in the free range chickens, so Lady would like a poultry free forever home.

Update: Sweet Lady has been a great foster. She knows all her basic commands, and due to her excellent house manners, she has been given full run of the house. If she needs to go potty, she will wake you up with a gentle kiss on the cheek (so sweet) but mostly she sleeps through the night. She gets along great with my two resident dogs however she can play rough at times and be a little bossy. She does love to play, enjoys toys, and really enjoys a good tennis ball. She also loves to go for walks and gets very excited when you reach for the leash. For the most part, she walks really well on leash. She doesn't pull but she keeps the leash taunt as she just wants to go. This girl also loves the water and is a great swimmer.
