My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Honey’s name truly describes this sweet little girl. She is a darling, 2 year old, little 6 lb. Maltese/Poodle who was hit by a car. Her family took her to a vet and requested she be “put down” as they did not have time or desire to pay for her care. The family did consent to the vet staff finding a rescue to take care of Honey. MRC was contacted to care and obtain surgery for Honey. In April, Honey had hip surgery for a fractured pelvis so she would do best in a home without a lot of stairs and a calm household would be best for Honey’s continued recovery. If you are seeking a sweet, affectionate little dog to cuddle next to you, Honey would be a great choice. We are seeking an adoptive family in Northern CA with previous experience caring for a small dog recovering from surgery.
