Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sisco is a horse that has been there, done that. He’s ridden the Greenways and many other trails and he has even ridden in parades. He is brave and very sweet - and he’s a cancer survivor!
When Sisco arrived at our rescue, a tumor the size of a grapefruit was removed from under his tail. It was also treated with a chemo cream and cryotherapy. It’s flared up a number of times but we are managing it well internally with a product that contains turmeric, green tea, bacopa and ashwagandha root. External treatment includes a cream that also contains turmeric and other antioxidants.
Sisco does have allergies to no-see-ums and wears a mask 24/7 to prevent injury to his eyes. He did have an eye ulcer a few years ago and without the mask, we have found that he rubs his eye on his leg which, in turn, caused his eye to become irritated. With the mask on, there are no problems. Prevention is much better than having to treat any injury.
Sisco does have some navicular changes in his front right foot which can cause periodic lameness, but since he does not wear shoes, we have no problem managing it with proper and timely trims.
Sisco has very good manners and would do best with an intermediate rider.
