Gemma is a 2-year-old, black-and-tan, female German Shepherd Dog. She's still an adolescent for this breed. She weighs around 57 pounds and may end up around 65 pounds when she fills out.
She has a timid personality and is learning to find her confidence in her foster home. She has shown herself to be a very gentle soul in her foster home. She's very affectionate and loving with those she trusts. She's a "velcro" dog who likes to be "stuck" to her person, and she even likes to lean against her person while standing.
She gets along well with other dogs and has a playful, goofy side. She is becoming more vocal as she gains confidence, growling playfully with the other dog in her foster home, trying to get him to play. She's also developing a classic GSD protectiveness, sentry barking to let her foster mom know when something is "out there" that needs attention.
Gemma is very intelligent and loves to please her person. We believe that with some positive training, she will continue to come out of her shell and build her self-confidence.
Gemma is already crate-trained and house-trained. She rides well in a car. She also walks well on a leash.
