Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Zoey is approximately 4 years and is a purebred miniature dachshund. She was surrendered to SOMAD because her human mom had too many animals to care for and wanted something better for her.
She is friendly with other dogs, but could not care less about them. Although she has lived with several other dogs, her perfect home would be one with either no dogs or just one other. She doesn't care to play or interact with another dog, but she's fine to co-exist with one.
She is happiest to be with her humans and hang out. If you're looking for a playful dog, Zoey is not the dog for you. She loves to snuggle on the couch or bed with you. She isn't demanding of attention - she just wants to be there with you. She is more than happy when she does get attention, but she won't be pushy to get it.
Zoey is gentle and kind. She may be slightly shy to strangers, but is not afraid of them. She will let you know when strangers come to the house, ring the doorbell or lurking around the house somewhere. However once you tell her they are friend and not foe, she will be welcoming to them.
Zoey's adoption fee is $300.
If you have specific questions about Zoey or would like an adoption application, please email to donnanjames@comcast.net.
Prior to adoptions, all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age appropriate), heartworm tested, microchipped and are kept up to date on flea/tick and heartworm preventative.
Adoption fees are $300 for dogs up to 8 years of age and $200 for 8+ years.
SOMAD is a private, all volunteer, foster-home based rescue group. Please be patient as we answer your inquiries; we do our best to answer emails within a day, however volume and regular life schedules sometimes delay us.
