Hello, my name is Sky. I was named after the color of a winter bluish/grey sky. They say my coat is “wolf grey”. My legs are white and so is my muzzle. It looks like I am wearing a pair of goggles. It seems my eyes kind of match winter skies. I am a 3-year-old husky/malamute mix. I am a medium/large dog and when I went to the vet for shots, I didn’t want to get on the scale. The scale read 61 lbs. I’m just a regular kind of guy that likes having fun! I’ll chase the squirrels, chipmunks and sometimes the pigeons. I love digging too! I can’t think of a better way to keep my nails in shape. Baths are ok, too. I also like being brushed (although my mom had to work with me a lot to get me there).
If you haven’t guessed by now, I am a talker. However, I never nip or growl or show any bad attitude. You can even put a plate in front of me and I won't touch it unless you say it's OK.
I am good with other dogs if you take the time to properly introduce me. No cats though please! I would find them far too tasty. I am great with kids... my mom has grandkids from age 7 to 10 months and I love them all.
Hey, do you have a car? I LOVE going bye-byes! I am very good and stay in the backseat unless you leave me in the car by myself... then I need to explore the front of course!
I am a good boy in the house. I won’t jump on your furniture or go to the bathroom in it either. If I have to go really, really bad I will wake you up in the middle of the night to let me out. So, please don’t close your door tight. Actually, I have a memory foam bed and I really do like sleeping on the floor at the bottom of my human’s bed. I like to keep an eye on them and make sure they are safe (you never know when you might need to go potty).
My mom is very sad to have to give me up, because right now I am all she has in the world. You see, my dad passed away a few months ago and now my mom can't keep me with her. I know when she is sad and I try to make her happy, but my mom knows she can't provide for me the way I need, and that's why she is looking for a new loving home for me. My mom will be very sad to give me up but it will comfort her to know I am safe and loved and being treated like the king I am.
I really am a very wonderful dog and I would be so excited to try to make you happy. Please take a chance on me, because we could all use a little more happiness.

TOTTSHR works with families to help find new homes for their dogs when the families have extenuating circumstances, such as an illness, that prevent them from being able to care for their canine friends.
