But being blind hasn't slowed her down, nor has it broken her incredible spirit. She simply familiarizes herself with her surroundings, and she is good to go. Her zest for life is unstoppable, she handles stairs unassisted, is great on a leash, friendly to people and dogs (can be a little shy at first, but warms up very quickly) and loves to chase squirrels. She loves cuddling, being brushed, the dog park and belly rubs. But just like any dog she has a few little quirks; loud noises, like sirens and train horns can make her nervous. She is also afraid to walk on metal sidewalks and prefers to detour around them.
Banoo loves long walks as long as she has a few short breaks. She could be a great running or hiking companion as long as the path is fairly even and the incline not too steep. She certainly has the stamina and willingness to try almost anything as long as it is presented with love and patience.
She can sit, lie down and come on command. But best of all, Banoo loves to show gratitude and love. She is a consummate snuggler and shows her gratitude with lots of kisses and cuddles. She knows that she is a lucky girl and she makes those around her feel very lucky, too.
