Meet Margie, this playful almost 2 years old, spayed spitz-Dachshund mix, with so much personality. Margie is an international rescue from Iran where she was found homeless and neglected. Margie enjoys her walks and greeting every person that she runs into. She likes toys, is friendly towards other dogs, and cautious around large dogs, which means she requires careful introduction to large dog-friendly dogs. This adorable girl will negotiate hard to sleep in your bed, however it is strongly recommended to have her sleep in her own bed at night as she will nip when startled or when she doesn’t want to be touched. Margie is house trained and knows some basic commands. Even though she is house trained, she will need to learn where her bathroom area is when she moves to a new home. Loud noises and hyper actives make Margie uncomfortable and reactive. She will do best in a home with no children, an active lifestyle and willingness to teach her new things using positive reinforcement training methods. This will ensure her a good life where she gets to be mentally and physically active, happy and healthy.
