My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

May is a 2 to 3 year old dog from the island of Anguilla. Her past was tortured, a life living on her own, afraid of people, near starvation and fighting to keep her 7 puppies alive. Fortunately for her, she was discovered by caring people, brought to the AARF (www.aarf.ai) shelter and placed into a foster home along with her 7 puppies. She lived in two foster homes on Anguilla and learned to trust people, gained weight, was nursed back to health and even served as a surrogate mother to an orphaned puppy! Fast forward to today and to NJ where she lives in a foster home while awaiting the perfect forever home!

May's puppies all have been adopted and she is hoping to have her own home someday. She would do best in a home without children and possibly without other dogs. She likes other dogs but due to lingering insecurities tends to get possessive of her person.

This gorgeous 30 pound dog is gentle, affectionate and playful, loves walks and hikes.
