Clayton is a Bull Mastiff who is a 5 years old Male. Meet our gentle giant Clayton! This big guy’s life has until recently been a sad story but……. he’s already working on his happy ending. Clayton came to us from a hoarding situation where he was kept with 20 other mastiffs, a goat and some rabbits – the living conditions were horrendous. The people were criminally charged and the animals taken from them. Little Rascals took three of the Bull Mastiffs – Clayton was one of them. When you first meet this awesome boy he seems perfectly normal, no signs of the sad life he lived for his first five years. We took him, cleaned him up, had his wounds treated and put him up for adoption and quickly he was adopted by a wonderful family. Clayton has so many great qualities, he’s house trained, crate trained, great in a car and on a leash. He LOVES people and the attention that he gets from them - as you can see in his video, the attention he insists on gettingJ. But, over the last few months we have learned that while Clayton puts on a “good front” he really has baggage that he brought from his past that he hasn’t been able to let go and because of this we all feel he needs a new home – a different kind of wonderful. We’ve learned that he really doesn’t feel safe around a lot of people – he loves the one on one but when there is a lot of activity in the house he becomes frightened and wants to hide. We also learned that he would prefer a home with NO young children and NO other pets. While he is not actually aggressive, he is not tolerant and with a boy this size that could become an issue. Clayton will remain in his current home being loved and cared for until we find him a home that is a perfect fit. Clayton’s forever home needs to be somewhat quite – not a lot of people in and out and his new parents need to be understanding and allow Clayton to be by himself when he feels the need – again that only happens when he feels there is too much commotion. He needs to be the King of his castle and not have to share with another animal and he needs parents that will make a commitment to love him for the rest of his life – if this sounds like your kind of commitment, please call Toni for more information on our handsome Clayton at 602-686-4158 or email azbullygirl@q.com
