Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi beagle lovers! Do I have you craving something sweet or do I just have you craving a sweet, loveable beagle like myself? My name says it all - I am a sweet treat of a beagle boy! I am soft and cuddly and I am looking for a happy forever home. My requests from you are simple – must love beagles (I need a companion), must share your lap, must give me hugs and kisses, must like to go for strolls and must have a comfy dog bed.
To tell you my background - I am from Toledo, Ohio. I was brought into the county shelter as a stray with my beagle friend Muffin. There was some speculation that I was actually owner surrendered but we don’t know for sure. Our county shelter welcomed us in and the staffdid their best to adopt Muffin and me as a pair. We appeared on the local news and in the newspaper but no one came to adopt us. I was pretty sad and it was becoming clear that shelter life was not for us so the good people at Midwest BREW brought us into our new foster homes! My foster home consists of my foster mom, two foster beagle sisters and me. I just love it – I had an adjustment period for sure because I found the shelter quite scary. When I arrived in my foster home I immediately loved laying in the grass on a sunny day and inside I have my very own big, comfy dog bed and I spend lots of time there.
I admit I am kind of a lazy couch potato. If you meet me you will see my joints are a bit swollen and I walk slowly. My knees aren’t in great shape so I don’t jump or run. My foster mom took me into the vet for several tests such as X-rays, blood and joint fluid tests. It appeared that I had severe arthritis but the results show that I have an immune mediated disease. I am currently on meds to treat me and to ensure that my condition doesn't worsen. My vet has taken good care of me and has made sure my life will be less painful, I’m a new dog! I just need TLC! If you have minimal stairs or don't mind picking me up to get in the car or on the couch, I would appreciate that!
In my day to day life I do love to be around my foster mom, well pretty much anyone that will pet me or give me a belly rub. I like to watch her cook and I like to snuggle in her lap on the couch when we get the chance. I enjoy being around my foster beagle sisters the most and I will cuddle or share a warm sunspot with them. My beagle foster sisters are older gals, so activity is more relaxed in my foster home. My foster mom noticed that I may have been on a tie out in my old home because I will guarantee you I will do my business on the leash. When loose in the yard, I sometimes forget and fall asleep in the grass. Oops! My foster mom often walks me short distances on the leash or around the yard to ensure I have done my duties before she goes away or to work. I also quickly showed my foster mom that I don’t care for being crated alone. When one of the beagles here noticed I was nervous in the crate she decided she would lay in the crate with me while foster mom works and that is the security I needed. Having a close, loving canine companion is very important to me!
I also wanted to point out that I come with my own “kiss me here” spot – conveniently located in the middle, top of my head. There will be no mistake about where you can plant those kisses. I hope you are looking for a low key, lover of a beagle because I am the guy for you! I have had some sad times so I would just ask for a comfortable home full of love to call my own. In return I will love you like no other. Please consider me for a lifetime of love. Love, Timbit
