My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

RESCUED SUPER SWEET 3 YR OLD PITBULL MIX
Amber was rescued from the one of the worst shelters in Orange County on Oct. 26,2015. We didn't know if she was surrendered by her owner or taken in by an Animal control officer. All we knew was that Amber went in on Oct 05, 2015. At the time, she had a harness on with "Amber" written on it. There was no contact number and no microchip.
After being at the shelter for a few weeks, Amber went from a happy and active young puppy to a very very sad and depress one. She was shutting down!! She did not respond to her name calls or even treats. She realized her owner was never gonna to come for her and she was giving up hopes. Amber just laid there, curled up in a ball and ignored the rest of the world. This little girl just gave up!!

The OC Animal Care, instead of trying to help Amber, they put her in the euthanasia list and set to die. Their thought was " she would never get adopted out now. So, we might as well put her down.". Amber was scheduled to be euthanized at 8:30am on Oct 26rd, 2015. She was already at her last few mins of her life, then a local rescue group stepped in and saved Amber from the needle of the shelter. She was inches away from death

Amber is a 3 years old, spayed female Pitbull Mix. Yes, she is a Pit, but from our experience she is very sweet. She loves people and kids and doesn't have any aggression toward people at all.

Amber loves to follow people around in the house. She is curious, layback and full of goofiness. Amber listens to commands. She knows to sit, lay-down, stay and no. We believe Amber used to have an owner. When she first arrived at the foster home, she went straight to a dog bed and lay down. She is very eager to please her people, she is very smart and a fast learner. Amber doesn't chew or destroy things. She is good inside and outside of the house. Amber is great being groomed and washed. When the foster mom washed her, she just stood there and not moved at all.

Amber is not food aggressive at all. The foster mom would give her treats (good cook chicken treats) and took it away from inside of her mouth. Amber was completely fine to let her foster mom take the treat from her. Amber is good with all of the touching, petting, pulling,. . . We touched her head, noise, mouth, paws, fingers, tails, belly. . .. She was loving it. No problem at all.

Amber does pull hard on a leash if she was not walked regularly. Also, Each time when we take her out for walks, she would get excited and pull at the first few minutes. Amber would pull hard (very hard) when she sees other dogs. We don't know if her pulling was out of excitement or aggression. However, we are working with a professional trainer on correcting these issues. We prefer Amber goes to a home without other dogs. She is much better with a calmer, lay-back and more relax environment. The ideal adopter should be an experienced Pitbull owner who can work with Amber.

Amber is spayed, microchipped and has all updated vaccinations. She is all healthy and ready for love.

Overall, Amber is a people's dog. She loves loves loves people and would always want to hang around you. She is loyal and will sit in front of the door and just waiting for your return. A great dog.
