Bleu is an 11 year old "blue" (a grayish color) and white, typical grumpy-old-man who enjoys retirement life. He came to the rescue when his only owner passed away. He is currently looking for his second loving home to spend the rest of his life with.
Bleu is loving and affectionate, but on his own terms. He can be stubborn when first getting acquainted with his new home. He will "gum" if pushed too much (since he has few teeth left). At kennel time, going outside at first in the new home, and waking up in the morning he needs coaxed to respond to instruction. He wants to be next his human at all times instead! He is a kisser so be ready for some love too.
He doesn't really like kennel time but will go in it with some work. He has been left out of the kennel at his previous home and can hold it for up to 6 hours. However in his foster home he still has some accidents, especially when it rains. He doesn't like to be outside alone, he would rather have company with him!
Bleu is good with other dogs after some adjusting to them, since he was an only-dog where he lived before. He gets along with small dogs and at first is intimidated by bigger dogs at first. His foster parents don't have any cats so he's still not sure how he feels about them.
Bleu enjoys eating a whole lot! He finishes his food in no time flat which usually consists of a healthy weight dry food mixed with a small amount of wet food for flavor and softness due to many chompers missing. If other dogs are around, he will need to know which bowls is his so he does not overeat or try to sneak to other dies. He does not appear to be food aggressive around his foster brothers. He also loves human food so dinner time he will be right at the table waiting for any little droppings. He needs a home that will help reduce his weight and will maintain a proper weight once he is at an ideal weight (likely around 17-19 lbs).
Overall, Bleu is a sweetheart and not to mention adorable with his "Elvis" lip. He has made great progress at his foster home and continues to get better each day. We hope that you consider giving Bleu a recliner to continue enjoying his lifestyle.
