Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gilda is approximately 4 yrs old and about 8 or 9 lbs. She is a small package stuffed with love. She is a quiet, calm girl. She gets along with other dogs, although she mostly co-exists with the others in her current foster home. She will occasionally play with the foster puppy, but she is mostly interested in just hanging out.
Her favorite place to 'hang out' is in her foster mom's arms. She loves to be held or sit in your lap. You can tell how grateful she is for anything you do for her. She will sit very still with you and is very cuddly to watch TV or read with.
Gilda will make you feel very welcome when you come home. She gets excited when you come home, but has not been a barker at her foster home.
She is calm, but friendly towards strangers. She won't be a dog that will jump up on strangers for their attention, but she has also not appeared to be fearful of strangers.
She is doing well with her house training as long as she has access to the outside. She is crate trained and does not mind being in a crate.
She has stolen the heart of her foster mom and we are sure she will win your heart over too.
Gilda is fostered in Chattanooga, but a meet and greet in Atlanta can be arranged by appointment.
Please email for an adoption application (Microsoft Word format).
Prior to adoptions, all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age appropriate), heartworm tested, microchipped and are kept up to date on flea/tick and heartworm preventative.
Adoption fees are $300 for dogs up to 8 years of age and $200 for 8+ years.
SOMAD is a private, all volunteer, foster-home based rescue group. Please be patient as we answer your inquiries; we do our best to answer emails within a day, however volume and regular life schedules sometimes delay us.
